For optimal airflow in a server or electronics cabinet it is important that the air is drawn accurately through the components installed in it. It should therefore be ensured that even unused chassis in the 19" plane are fully closed in with front panels. As a low-cost alternative to existing aluminium 19" front panels, Schroff now offers continuous front panels in plastic. Apart from ensuring the correct airflow, these panels give the cabinets a uniform and professional appearance.
These new plastic front panels that conform to RoHS can be simply clipped into the grid of the 19" plane (threaded or square hole) in a matter of seconds. No additional fixing components such as cage nuts, bolts or washers are required. Should it be necessary, the panels can be removed just as simply. This also lowers installation costs. The new front panels are available in two sizes, 1 U and 2 U, and in two colours, black and light grey (RAL 7035), and can be used with all electronic packaging systems that conform to IEC 60297-2.
