Schroff has now extended the ServicePLUS configuration module with a new configurator for MicroTCA systems. Internet-based configurators are now available at www.schroff.co.uk for all embedded systems (AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, VME/VME64x and CompactPCI). This means that individual, application-orientated products can now be put together quickly and simply.
The new MicroTCA system configurator uses an interactive questionnaire to collect benchmark system data from the user. This requests such information as the number of module slots, the size of the AdvancedMC modules and specifications relating to backplane topology, cooling and any necessary accessories (filler panels or front panels). In a separate field the user can enter additional specific requirements.
Next the customer selects any additional ServicePLUS options, such as assembly or modification, before specifying the quantity required and desired delivery date. The customer sends the completed form to Schroff and receives an individual quote. If anything is ambiguous or any data is missing, this is followed up by telephone.
