Electronics packaging specialist Schroff has announced that it is now the exclusive UK supplier of the ranges of ruggedised PCB retainers and associated products manufactured by Birtcher and Calmark, which are Schroff’s sister companies within the Pentair Technical Products Group.

Birtcher and Calmark products are widely used for securing printed circuit boards and dissipating heat in demanding commercial and military environments such as avionics, transportation, and the oil and gas industries.

Birtcher designs and manufactures ruggedised card retainers such as the renowned Wedge-Lok range, injector/extractors, and conduction-cooled frames for open-architecture bus-based systems. Calmark produces an extensive range of Card-Lok retainers for the most challenging rugged environments, as well as a wide range of Nylon and metal extractors for customised 19in. rack applications.

Primarily designed for use in systems that are subjected to high levels of vibration, the Birtcher and Calmark products can be specified in heavy-duty or light-duty versions, depending on the clamping force and heat-transfer performance required.

All of the products are now available from Schroff in a wide variety of standard configurations, and they can also be customised to suit the needs of particular applications.
